A recent survey by INTO University Partnerships has revealed a significant shift in how students, particularly from India, are approaching international education. Moving beyond the traditional choices of Australia, Canada, the UK, and the USA, students are now prioritizing affordability and strategic post-study work opportunities, leading them to consider a broader range of destinations.
The survey, which gathered responses from over 1,240 education counsellors across 66 countries, including 213 from India, showed that more than 90% of Indian agents observed students applying to a greater number of universities overall. Notably, 14% of these agents reported that students applied to over 100 universities in the past year. This trend indicates a strategy of "hedging bets," as students seek to secure the best fit for their academic and financial goals.
